TORTILLA

ORIGIN
The corn tortilla has its origins in the Mesoamerican culture, which includes southern Mexico and some regions of Central America.
Since ancient times and up to the present day, it has been the bread, dish and spoon of these countries, descendants of the Mesoamerican culture. And its consumption has spread worldwide.

Corn tortillas are a great source of fiber and calcium.

They are gluten-free and low in fat and calories.

Their nutritional properties, their versatility to accompany a wide range of ingredients and their ease of preparation make them a great complement to all kinds of dishes and foods.(Taco, Cerveza & Mezcal or Mixology Experience). Warmed corn tortillas are also often served as an accompaniment to stews, soups, grilled meats and other dishes, as bread might be served in other cuisines.( Taco, Cerveza & Mezcal or Mixology Experience)

Corn tortillas may also be deep fried to make crisp tortilla chips. These are often salted, and can be eaten alone or accompanied with various salsas and dips such as guacamole. Tortilla chips are a key ingredient in nachos.

How to heat them
Our recommendation: Frying pan or griddle
Put a frying pan or griddle on high heat and, when it is very hot, turn the tortillas over and over, leaving them for 10 to 30 seconds on each side. You will see that they become flexible when folded, which means they are ready for you to enjoy them with the ingredients of your choice.
